WattPath Privacy Policy

Last updated: March 27, 2026

The short version: Your workout data stays on your device by default. If you choose to sign in with Google (Android) or use iCloud (iOS), your data can be backed up to the cloud. We don't run analytics or collect personal data beyond what's needed for optional cloud sync. Ads are non-personalized.

Data Storage

All data you create in WattPath — including ride history, training metrics, power profiles, and settings — is stored locally on your device by default.

If you choose to enable cloud sync, your workout data and profile settings are also stored in your personal cloud account (Google Drive on Android, iCloud on iOS). This data is only accessible to you and to WattPath — it is not visible to other apps or users.

Google Sign-In and Cloud Sync (Android)

WattPath offers an optional Google Sign-In feature on Android. If you choose to sign in with Google:

  • We receive your email address and display name from Google to identify your account within the App.
  • We request access to the Google Drive Application Data folder (drive.appdata scope). This is a private, app-specific folder in your Google Drive that is not visible in your normal Drive files.
  • Your workout history, training metrics, and profile settings may be synced to this folder for backup and cross-device access.
  • You can configure sync to occur only over Wi-Fi from the Settings screen.
  • You can sign out at any time from the Settings screen, which stops all cloud sync activity. Your data remains on Google Drive until you manually delete it.

We do not access any other files in your Google Drive, and we do not share your Google account information with third parties.

iCloud Sync (iOS)

On iOS, WattPath can optionally sync your data using iCloud. iCloud sync uses your device's existing Apple ID — no additional sign-in is required. Your workout data is stored in a private iCloud container accessible only to WattPath. You can disable iCloud sync at any time from the Settings screen.

Information You Provide

  • Profile settings (birthdate, weight, gender, fitness level, FTP) — stored locally and optionally synced to the cloud
  • Workout data (rides, intervals, power targets, training plans) — stored locally and optionally synced to the cloud
  • Training goals and preferences (workout frequency, session duration, preferred days) — stored locally and optionally synced to the cloud
  • Google account information (email, display name) — only if you sign in with Google on Android

Information Collected Automatically

During a workout, WattPath receives real-time data from your smart trainer and connected sensors via Bluetooth, including power output, cadence, speed, and heart rate. This data is processed on your device and saved as part of your workout history. It is not transmitted to any external server unless you have enabled cloud sync.

Advertising data: The App uses Google Mobile Ads to display banner advertisements. The App requests non-personalized ads only. Google's ad SDK may collect device identifiers and limited usage data in accordance with Google's Privacy Policy.

Network state: The App checks your network connectivity status (Wi-Fi vs. cellular) to determine when to perform cloud sync. This information is not stored or transmitted.

Information We Do Not Collect

GPS or location tracking data
Usage analytics or telemetry
Crash reports
Contacts or call logs
Personalized advertising profiles

Bluetooth and Sensor Connections

WattPath uses Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) to connect to smart trainers, power meters, cadence sensors, and heart rate monitors. These connections are used solely to receive workout data in real time and to control trainer resistance. No Bluetooth data is stored beyond the workout metrics recorded during your ride.

Advertisements

WattPath displays banner ads powered by Google Mobile Ads (AdMob). The App is configured to request non-personalized ads only. Google may still collect device identifiers and limited data to serve and measure ads. For more information, see How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.

Data Retention and Deletion

  • Local data: You can delete individual workouts or all data from within the App at any time. Uninstalling the App removes all local data.
  • Google Drive data: If you use cloud sync on Android, your data is stored in Google Drive until you delete it. You can remove synced data by signing out and revoking the App's access in your Google Account permissions.
  • iCloud data: If you use iCloud sync on iOS, your data is stored in iCloud until you delete it through the App or your iCloud settings.
  • Crash recovery data: During a workout, the App saves ride state locally every 10 seconds for crash recovery. This data is automatically deleted after 4 hours if not resumed.
  • Ad-related data: Data collected by Google's ad SDK is governed by Google's data retention policies.

Children's Privacy

WattPath is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children. The App displays non-personalized advertisements served by Google AdMob, which may collect device information as described in this policy. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the App, please contact us.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Your continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
